Magazine portraits for Sports Business Journal
I had the pleasure to produce magazine portraits for Jane Kleinberger of Paciolan. Paciolan is one of America’s largest sports ticketing companies. Jane was being honored by Sports Business Journal as a “game changer” in the industry. They needed some magazine portraits to go along with the article.
The idea was formed to get a couple of team mascots together for the photographs representing one of her oldest and newest clients.
Something fun.
While Jane was busy running a multi-billion dollar a year company she was happy to provide some of her time for the photos. The University of Southern California and University of California, Irvine sent recognizable representatives for their schools.
For these magazine portraits I had one hour of shooting time along with a couple of hours of preparation. Even though I have photographed at their offices in the past, I visited a week before to scout areas for these new photographs. The day of the shoot my assistant and I set up lights and a seamless background in one area and set-up another set of lights in the reception area. We arrived over and hour before the shoot time and used every minute to make sure things were just right.
Jane was generous with her time. Everybody was having fun. The aardvark must have been very warm in his costume. He was trying to stay in character by not speaking. He finally took a break when the cameras were put down.
Sometimes work is work. Other times you have a 7-foot high aardvark, a fighting Trojan, and one very hip company founder.
